C. Vernon Mason is an American attorney, civil rights activist, and television talk show host. He is known for his involvement in high-profile civil rights cases, including the Tawana Brawley case in the late 1980s. Mason also served as the president of the New York City chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) in the early 1990s. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received his law degree from Columbia Law School. Mason currently hosts the weekly television talk show "Open Line" on WBLS-FM in New York City, where he discusses social and political issues affecting the African American community.
